Mount TeideThe north of the island is lush and green, whilst the south is almost continually drenched in sunshine. Rising from the centre is the dormant volcano of Mount Teide, which dominates the island at over 12,000 feet. A cable car goes almost to the summit, where the breathtaking views of the flower strewn rolling green Orotava Valley can be seen. When you combine this sunseekers paradise with the duty free shopping, it is easy to see why it is such a popular holiday destination. A must on the internary is a visit to the island's capital city of Santa Cruz, one of the busiset seaports in Spain. A visit to the Arab market is highly recommended, partriculary to see the many gifts on sale and the displays of beautiful sub tropical shrubs and flowers. Being the capital, Santa Cruz has a marvellous selection of shops with their array of duty free goods. Combine all this with a flight time in the region of 4.5 hours from the United Kingdom makes Tenerife an island you can not afford to miss

Las Americas Beach Playa de las Americas is southern Tenerife's most popular resort. Sheltered by the island's central mountain range, this modern town enjoys a beautifully sunny climate throughout the year. In the evening time there are ample clubs, discos, bars, and restaurants enabling the holiday maker to chose a different venue every night. The resort is also host to the island's only water fun park and golf course and on the western outskirts of the resort lies the beautiful new Puerto Colon yachting marina. If you would like to indulge in a little sight seeing tour of La Gomera, one of Tenerifes sister islands, or you would like to entertain yourself with a shark fishing trip then the neighbouring fishing village of Los Christanous must be another destination for you.

Tenerife's weather plays a huge part in the islands popularity, with the lowest temperature difference between summer and winter for virtually anywhere in the world.
