The
north of the island is lush and green, whilst the south is
almost continually drenched in sunshine. Rising from the centre is the dormant
volcano of Mount Teide, which dominates the island at over 12,000 feet.
A cable car goes almost to the summit, where the breathtaking views of the
flower strewn rolling green Orotava Valley can be seen. When you combine
this sunseekers paradise with the duty free shopping, it is easy to see
why it is such a popular holiday destination. A must on the internary is
a visit to the island's capital city of Santa Cruz, one of the busiset seaports
in Spain. A visit to the Arab market is highly recommended, partriculary
to see the many gifts on sale and the displays of beautiful sub tropical
shrubs and flowers. Being the capital, Santa Cruz has a marvellous selection
of shops with their array of duty free goods. Combine all this with a flight
time in the region of 4.5 hours from the United Kingdom makes Tenerife an
island you can not afford to miss |
